Privacy policy

This policy explains what information AutoTaxCalculator ("we", "us") collects when you use autotaxcalculator.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: our calculators run entirely in your browser, we don't ask you to create an account, and we don't sell personal information.

Information you enter in our calculators

The prices, trade-in values, rates and other numbers you type into a calculator are processed by JavaScript in your own browser. They are not sent to our servers or stored by us. If you use the Copy link to this result button, your inputs are added to the link's address so the result can be reopened. Anyone you share that link with can see those numbers, and the link may appear in your browser history.

Information collected automatically

Our website is delivered through Cloudflare, which provides hosting, caching and security. Like any web server, it processes technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser type, the pages you request, the referring page and the time of the request. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure (for example, blocking malicious traffic) and diagnose problems. Cloudflare's handling of this data is described in the Cloudflare privacy policy.

Cookies

We don't currently set cookies for advertising or tracking. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies to protect the site from abuse. If we add analytics or advertising in the future, we'll update this policy first, describe the providers and cookies involved, and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Emails you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to reply and, for error reports, to fix the problem you described. We keep messages only as long as needed for that purpose and don't add you to any mailing list.

How we use information

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Links to other websites

Our pages link to official government websites and other sources. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we don't control.

Children

This website is meant for adults buying or registering vehicles. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including California and other US states with privacy laws, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to delete it, and to correct it. Because we collect very little, in most cases the only personal information we hold is an email you sent us. To make a request, email contact@autotaxcalculator.com. We won't discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Security

The site is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we keep the information we handle to a minimum.

Changes to this policy

We'll post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. Significant changes, such as adding analytics or advertising, will be described here before they take effect.
